From early of 1950, there were many of twin lens camera has been made by miner companies and factories. By the 1954, Yashica has released Yashicaflex, which was well made in low price, and many of the miner companies has been weeded out. At that time, major twin lens camera constructors started to sell semi automat style(set the film in start mark, wind the film and stops in next frame automatically). In such a historical flow, Yashica released Yashica-Auto. This camera is a semi automatic style(charging the shutter while winding the film to a next frame). Performance of this camera was maximum shutter speed of 1/500 with fresnel finder lens. They released in reasonable price. After release of Yashica-Auto, Yashica started to sell Yashica-Mat LM. Half year after the release of Yashica-Auto, this camera drops out from the catalog and stoped production. As you see this historical flow, the number of Yashica-Auto has been produced not much, and it is pretty difficult to find in good condition. For this camera, condition is really recommended. MECHANICAL: This cameras shutter fires in each speeds. The aperture closure moves smoothly, no oil on either aperture or shutter blade. OPTICAL CONDITION: Lens is Yashinon f/3.5 85mm. View and take lenses are very clear. No haze, no fog, no balsam separation, no fungus. We actually loaded a film and completed the photo shot. We used Fujifilm Pro400H negative color film. Please check the image posted. IMPRESSION of USAGE: Method of usage is as follows. Insert the film and wind up the film till start mark of film reach to the red mark in the film room. Close the back lid and lock them, wind the film nob till counter shows 1, and stops automatically. Hold of the camera firmly by left hand. Point the lens toward the subject. Take a picture, wind the crank and advance the film. Shutter will automatically charge by the cranking motion. Aperture on the left side and shutter speed on the right side of the dial in-between the take and view lens. Shutter release button in right down corner.
