Warm greetings from Japan. Thank you very much for visiting our listing. Up for sale is a 1979 Martin HD-28. Comes with original hard case. Being a vintage piece, there are weather checks and signs of use, but no history of crack repairs or refinishing. In reality, it looks even more impressive with the weather checks. [Condition] It has a good sound from being played. As it has an SQ neck, truss rod adjustments are not possible. Many guitars from this era have necks thicker than 3mm/0.12inches, but the string height is quite playable at around 2.5-2.6mm/0.1inches at the 12th fret of the 6th string. It has been serviced in a guitar shop and plays comfortably. [Modifications, Installation History] The tuners were changed to Gotoh and the bridge pins were replaced with buffalo saddle ones. The tuners are easy to turn, and tuning stability is good. The buffalo bone bridge pins are of high quality and I believe they do not compromise the sound. Please note that the original parts are not included. Also, a strap pin is attached to the neck heel, and there are slight traces of wood filling as if the position has been shifted. The frets have been replaced from the original, but they show little wear and have sufficient height. [Marks and Stains] There are some marks on the lower right front of the body, as if it has been bumped or rubbed. According to the guitar shop, it is not a crack in the wood, so there is no need for a patch and it does not affect the sound. There has been no change in its condition, so probably it will continue to be reliable in the future. There is also some white stains on the lower right side of the body. It is unclear if it is paint or marker, but probably it is not very noticeable. Being a vintage item, it has been weathered and shows signs of use, but has never been repaired with cracks or repainted. The weather-checked feel of the actual guitar is even more impressive than in the picture. There are some signs of used. The case has signs of wear due to storage.
